A group at Trinity Episcopal Church originally formed the "Trinity Foster Home" in 1969 to provide respite to foster families. In 1972, the organization’s name was changed to Trinity Children’s Services, with an increased focus on child placement. 1972 is considered to be the founding year of the Trinity organization. The volunteer-based organization’s assets totaled $1,302 in 1978. In 1979 hourly support employees called Care Providers were paid $2.00 per hour. By 1980, the organization’s name changed to Trinity Community Services to reflect a broader age-range of clients. In 1990, the agency moved to a location on Mesa Way and over the next few years Trinity began providing in-home support for clients on Medicaid home and community-based care waivers. In 1991, the organization’s name changed to Trinity Respite Care and the administraive office moved to a location on Four Wheel Drive a few years later. The organization's office moved to 2201 W. 25th Street in 1999. In 2004, Trnity provided an average of 5,000 hours of support each month. In 2005, the organization's name changed to Trinity In-Home Care to better represent services provided. In 2009, Trinity expanded programming by opening Imagine Drop-In Childcare and Discovery programs at 536 Fireside Court to offer supportive group services. Today, Trinity has over 200 employees and volunteers, has a budget of over 2 million, and provides over 14,000 hours of care per month in Douglas County. -That's over 450 hours of support in Douglas County EVERYDAY.
